If you are lucky enough to live in the U.K., then it is easy to get to the nearest canal base.
Just hop in the car, or grab a train, and you are on your way.
But, if you are elsewhere in the world, like we are, in far away Australia, it’s not so easy.It involves airports, lots of flying, trains, busses taxi’s and more trains
When we first started to visit the U.K. it was a matter of letters to and from, long waits for an answer, and eventually booking were confirmed.
Nowadays, with the internet, it has made things a lot easier and quicker.
We tend to fly via Singapore, have a few days in London, off to whichever canal we are cruising, and then do something different to finish off.
