keep Up to Date
With your Narrowboat Magazine

There is something about canal and narrowboat magazines.

Well, there is with me.

I get them delivered, quickly scan them, check the articles, admire all the boats for sale, and

the ones I will buy when I win the lottery.

Then I put them away.

It may be months before I get them out again.

But, I always do.

Over, and over again.

On a wet Sunday afternoon, finding little articles on places we have been.

Or, on a quiet night, planning our next cruise.

They are great companions, always there when needed

There are several canal and narrowboat magazines available today.

The most popular, are Waterways World, Canal Boat and Inland Waterways, and Canal and River.

Of these, Waterways World is probably the most popular. Good articles, bright photographs, and lots of news.

They give good coverage on latest restorations, stoppages, and any developments of interested to

te waterway traveler.

And, they have regular features, like “popular waterside pubs”, that I enjoy.

We subscribed for a year, and the magazine arrived on time, every month, not bad for out here in Australia.

There is also plenty of adds of narrowboats for sale. Plus, good features, such as favorite canal pubs. At 160 odd pages, it is pretty bulky, but well worth the investment.

Waterways world also have an annual, that gives an excellent run down on each canal.

You can ubscribe to Waterways World Magazine..... here

Canal Boat and Inland Waterways magazine is similar to Waterways World, a bit smaller, with not as many classified ads.

Canal Boat gives good coverage of festivals, waterways news, new book and video reviews, and diary of upcoming events. And good features on selected canals.

Photo's are always of a high quality.

Slightly cheaper than Waterways World, we did get the occasional copy go astray, and were not so easy to contact as Waterways World.

So which magazine is best?

It is all a matter of taste. I subscribed to each for a year, and liked them both.

So buy one of each, give them a good read, and choose either.
